Pulsatilla 6x - 100 TB
Pulsatilla - Boericke & Tafel, Nature's Way
Pulsatilla- From Pulsatilla nigricans, the pasque flower. The homeopathic remedy is made from the whole plant when it is in flower.
Constitutional indications:
Children who are small, fair,
fine-boned, bright and cheerful, but also shy and sensitive and blush easily
respond well to Pulsatilla. So do slightly plumper, darker, more languid
children who crave affection but find it difficult to give. Adults who are shy,
gentle, fair-skinned or fair-haired, and rather plump also benefit from
Pulsatilla. The Pulsatilla type is easily led, easily moulded and rather
changeable.
Mental symptoms alleviated:
Depression; tendency to yield and give
way to others; preference for a sheltered life; Sympathy with people or animals
in distress, sometimes to the point of tears; self-consciousness; longing for
attention and affection; obliging others by laughing at their jokes and antics;
always wanting someone else in room; fear of death and insanity; little
obstinacy or determination; rare anger.
Physical symptoms alleviated:
Headaches centred above eyes,
alleviated by firm pressure, aggravated by indigestion, and worse in evening;
fainting, especially in hot stuffy rooms; corneal ulcers, styes or
conjunctivitis; fever, with lack of thirst; blocked up nose at night, runny
nose during day; yellowish, bland catarrh, better in open air and worse in
warm; loss of smell; acute sinusitis; nosebleeds; white, coated tongue and bad
taste in mouth; dry mouth and lack of thirst; toothache; pricking sensation in
gums, relieved by cold air but aggravated by warmth; dry throat; a loose cough,
with greenish phlegm in morning; low backache, not improved by movement;
flitting joint pains which wear off with exercise and cold applications but get
worse with heat; sleeping with hands above head; disturbed sleep due to rich
food or overheated bedroom (moderate exercise before bed gives a sound night's
sleep); mild anaemia; palpitations; varicose veins; stomach which is tight and
tense in morning, and easily upset by rich or fatty food, especially pork;
sensation of pressure under breastbone after meals; craving for sweet things;
rumbling, gurgling stomach; in women, thick, creamy, smarting discharge from
vagina, late periods, or cessation of periods, especially after shock, acute
infection or illness; in both sexes, increased desire for sex; bedwetting;
bowels loose, with no two stools alike.
The above symptoms are often relieved by crying, raising the hands above the head, gentle exercise, fresh air and cold drinks or cold applications; sympathy also has a positive effect. Sun, heat, changes in temperature, rich or fatty foods and lying on painful side usually intensify symptoms, which are worse in the evening and at night.
Complementary remedies:
Coffea, Nux, Chamomilla.
The pulsatilla, or windflower as it is also known, contains a poisonous substance which results in blisters in the mouth and throat if chewed. Homoeopath will often prescribe Pulsatilla to patients with conditions accompanied by a thick discharge.
Pulsatilla was made as a remedy by recognizing the reactions of healthy individuals to undiluted doses. The changes in the individuals were recorded.
When a Homoeopath sees a patient with a set of similar symptoms to the recorded ones induced by sulphur, they then prescribe it in an extremely dilute form. In a highly diluted dosage, Pulsatilla can eliminate the symptoms that it creates when it is at full strength.
